Notes: A 7 page article on the history of fret sawing and wood carving, and the (new) technology of a 'sawing machine' - which turned out to be the first invention of the modern day scroll saw. Article contains 15 different detailed engravings / illustrations of artist-quality woodworking examples, in the French, German & American designs, including two additional images of blade types and an ornate 'sawing machine'. Condition: Complete article removed from within original Harper's Monthly Magazine. Original wrapers-bound removed and missing. Now enclosed in a archival crystal-clear magazine slip.
