Measures 8" x 10-1/2" tall. 32 pp. Heavily illustrated with hundreds of black & white smaller to half-page illustrations from the 18th century. A classic treatise on book binding and fine leather bindings with ornamentation. Illustrated with drawing figures, and 16 plates of fine leather bound examples with tissue guard. Long title: [A Rod for the Back of the Binder: Some Considerations of Binding With Reference to the Ideals of The Lakeside Press]. Overall, good condition, with flaws noted: One previous owner book cloth label removed from spine, with white adhesive mark remaining. Previous bookseller's catalog entry taped onto front free endpaper. Corners bumped and rubbed. Head and tail of spine chipped, with 3/4" lower most tail of spine chipped and missing. Book tight and complete with no interior marks, writing, etc. Not ex-library.
