Illustrated with 16 color plates and hundreds of b/w illustrations. 487 pp. Compiler William McBride has collected info to produce a comprehensive Twain bibliography describing 761 of his books in various editions, plus 169 books on Twain, and 327 items of his correspondence (summaries of every letter owned by the Mark Twain Memorial And The Stowe-day Foundation), as well as foreign editions. This very useful bibliography contains photographs of each book cover, title page and points of issue when known. An indispensable work, covering the full breadth of Mark Twain's writings after Merle Johnson's first Twain bibliography in 1910 and the entries in Jacob Blanck's Bibliography of American Literature in 1957. This first edition / first printing was limited to 1,500 copies, along with 52 leather bound signed copies. At the time of listing this book for sale, this was the only signed, limited edition copy available online.
