New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1951 1st edition Tan cloth hardcover measures 9-1/4" by 6-1/8" wide. 63 numbered pages. Lee Samuels 'A Hemingway Check List" is one of the first published attempts at a complete bibliography for Ernest Hemingway items. Written during Hemingway's lifetime, he was kind enough to supply a two-page preface from the Finca in Cuba in November, 1950, describing in detail the story of Hadley Hemingway bringing all his work (up to that point in 1922) to the Gare de Lyons train station and having it stolen with a suitcase. This great reference is broken into eight sections and includes Books, Short Stories (published and not published), Poetry, Contributions to Periodicals, First Appearances in Book Form, Prefaces and Introductions, and Unclassified Works. A must for any serious Hemingway scholar or collector. In near fine condition with no marks, tears, stains, etc. Not ex-library. Lacks dust jacket.
